    Virtual VP for People/HR for small to medium size businesses. Provide overall HR consulting. Available to each client as a resource 24/7 either in the office, via email or phone. Establish and clarify HR policies and resolve HR issues as they arise. Provide strategic and organizational advice and support. Recruit and staff senior level positions as needed.

    Frontier Natural Brands, Inc.
    Chief People Officer
    December 2000 to July 2002

    As an officer of the company, was responsible for the design and implementation of an “Employee First” strategy for the company. Completed an organization assessment including a redesign of each functional organization. Assisted the CEO in designing and hiring the executive team. Designed and implemented an employee stock ownership program for all employees. Designed and managed an executive stock option and compensation plan. Specific responsibilities included all functions of Human Resources, the cafeteria and the on site childcare center.



    Celestial Seasonings, Inc.
    Vice President for People
    March 1994 to October 2000

    As an officer of the company, was responsible for planning, recommending, implementing, evaluating and continuously improving the programs and services that enhanced the quality of work life at Celestial. Was a key player on the M&A team handling all HR due diligence. Specific responsibilities included: Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Performance Planning and Evaluation, Pluralism, Rewards and Recognition, Workforce Planning, Acquisitions, Succession Planning, Training, Employee Development, Employee Relations, Leadership Development and Organizational Design. Managed the HR department, two Retail Stores, Mailroom, Café, Catering, Receptionists, PBX Operators and Consumer Services.



    US West, Inc.
    Executive Director - Leadership & Learning Systems
    October 1991 to March 1994

    Responsible for U S West Leadership Center, 22 training centers, 389 employees and 39 million-dollar budget.
    Leadership Role: Addressed major human resource issues facing U S West. The client group for this position was the officer body. Main functional responsibilities included: Succession Planning, Executive Development, Staffing, Workforce Management, Applied Research, Diversity Development Initiatives, Executive Search and University Relations.
    Learning Systems Role: Responsible for all learning functions within U S West. Provided state of the art education for U S West employees focusing on just in time and function specific learning.



    IBM Corporation
    1974 to 1991

    Business Strategy and Planning
    Developed the business process and plans for IBM’s outsourcing activities. Established developmental needs of IBM executive consultants managing business contracts exceeding 30 million dollars. Responsible for line management and direction of 15 million dollar operating budget, including client executive briefings.

    Marketing Management
    Designed, staffed and managed a marketing organization utilizing development engineers and programmers to sell system printers. Attained sales objectives of over 110 million dollars.

    Redeployment Training
    Managed a multi-level management organization to redeploy over 3000 employees affected by IBM's re-missioning efforts. Developed a strategy that identified needs, curricula, instructors and facilities. Determined selection, entrance testing and completion criteria. Proposed placement strategies and plans for all levels of employees.

    Human Resources
    Managed various human resource functions including: Succession Planning, Diversity, Employee Development, Management Development, Staffing, University Relations, Employee Relations, and Industrial Relations.

    Communications
